Not as crazy a ride

After about a month Hailey decided that she could get on her rocking horse without her cousin Canyon. It may not be as exciting as riding with her crazy cousin, but she gave it a try anyway.

Believe it or not she is really giving the horse a kiss. She hasn't quite got the hang of keeping her mouth shut when giving kisses. Most of the time her mouth is shut, but not always.

Summer fun

Last weekend I went and bought Hailey a pool. Living in California you need some relief from the heat, even as a toddler. She loves to play in the pool and asks most every day. Since I'm already very warm due to the pregnancy and with all of the smoke from the wildfires up here we haven't played in it too much.

That weekend I was also watching a friend of mines kids since she was in charge of our churches tri-stake youth conference. Her daugherty Kayli helped me a lot with Hailey in the pool. They had a blast together. It was very fun to watch.

After being in the pool for quite a while Hailey's teeth started to chatter and it was time to get out and warm up. Also, to say thanks to Grandma Susan for the cute swim suite.

Hailey's first hair cut

Last weekend we took Hailey for her first hair cut. She was great! We had a friend of the family cut it. Hailey sat on Daddy's lap and watched Backyardagins. We didn't have that much cut off. She just trimed up the front and cut layers in the back, so you can see all of Hailey's curls (she has a lot). Hailey really didn't notice that anything was going on.

Follow up to expanding our family

I went to the OB today and everything is great. One babies heart rate was 140 and the other was 129. I'm fine and the babies are too. However Hailey is getting some molars in and is very cranky. That makes all of us tired, but as Aaron pointed out it's better that she gets them all in now instead of when the twins are here. Since she is sleeping right now and I have the house to myself I'm going to take advantage of it. Night-night!

Expanding our family

Most of you know that we are expecting a new addition to our family in the fall. What most of you may not know and we only found out on Friday, when we went to the first ultrasound, is that we are not having one baby we are having two! Yes, we are having twins!! I have an OB appointment tomorrow and will inform you of all of the details of that appointment later. Aaron and I both had know idea that we were having twins. We are both excited and a little nervous about having twins. We did find out that one is a boy. The other we aren't sure about because he/she was being very shy and kept it's legs together or crossed the whole time. The lady that was preforming the ultrasound did say that since I am having twins that I will be having more ultrasound's, since they like to watch them to make sure everyone is developing as they should be. For now everything is great!!

Enjoying the big backyard

Where we live now we have a very large backyard and Hailey loves it. I think that the boys do too. However they are the ones in charge of the lawn maintenance, so they might not enjoy it as much as Hailey does.

The joy's of having a girl

There are many fun things about having a girl. I'm sure there are also many fun things about having a boy, I just don't know about them since I only have a girl. One of the best things about having a girl is the clothes. And along with the clothes come the accessories. Hailey loves accessories, except we call them pretties. She loves to wear her pretties (especially these necklaces) and she wears them everywhere. The first picture is out in our backyard and the second is at the Strawberry Festival in Happy Valley.

Cousin's

My sister, Amanda and her two boys (Canyon, 2 and Dane, 7 months) came to visit a couple of weekends ago. We had plans to go to a local festival, but it was canceled due to rain. Instead we hung out around the house. Once Canyon noticed the rocking horse in the living room he had to ride it. It was very cute to watch. Once he calmed down Amanda and I put Hailey on with him. She had so much fun riding the horse with Canyon! Later on, once they had left, I went to put her back on the horse and she didn't want to ride it. I guess riding with her cousin Canyon made all the difference.
