Princess Hailey

Hailey and I have kind of been stuck inside a lot this summer due to the poor air quality outside because of all of the wildfires around us. A couple of days ago I was running out of things to entertain her and then I remembered some PJ's that Grandma Caren had given her because Tina had out grown them. So we put on the PJ's, that look like a dress on her and all of her "pretties" and played like she was a princess. She had so much fun and I was grateful that she had something to entertain her. We had to wait for Daddy to get home from work so he could see his little princess.

Babies

We went to the OB today and all is well. Madalynne has a heart rate of 160 and Chris has a heart rate of 148. Both are doing great!!! Although Chris was kind of being a punk and wouldn't stay still so the nurse could get his heart rate. Got to love boys. Maybe that is a preview of what is to come. I don't know what to do with a boy. I'm also far enough along that I now go to the doctor every other week. That should be fun since Hailey doesn't really like doctors, since she gets shots at her doctor. Before we go in I always tell her that we are just going to check on the babies, but she still says "NO" as soon as we pull up to the office.

Correction

Aaron and I talked about how we wanted to spell our new baby girls name and we decided to spell it Madalynne instead of the previously stated Madilynne. Her middle name will still be Lily. I have another OB appointment on Thursday and will up date you all then of how Maddie and Chris are doing.

When Daddy isn't watching

I was trying to clean up the house and I asked Aaron to keep an eye on Hailey. I don't think that he heard me because he usually watches her if I ask and sometimes even if I don't ask, but look like I need a break. When I finished what I was doing I didn't see Hailey near Aaron and I didn't hear her anywhere and as all of you parents know when you can't hear you kids then it's time to worry about what they are doing. This is were I found Hailey.

She had climbed in between the two couches, where most of her toys are kept and was happily playing with everything. All of her toys and my knitting are all back in this area because she couldn't get to it, or at least that's what we thought. She now knows that she is not suppose to be back there and will come and ask if she can have something that is back there. Funny girl!!

Chris & Maddie

We had our second ultrasound today, which told us that we are having a boy and a girl!! One of each should be a lot of fun. We already names picked out for both of them, boy: Christopher Aaron and girl: Madilynne Lily. Hence the title of this blog "Chris & Maddie", which will be their nicknames. They both are doing great and are growing right on schedule. Both weight approximately a little over 1lb each. Aaron and I are very excited and can't wait until they arrive.

The belly!!

I have had a couple of people, who live to far away to see, ask about the size of my belly since there are two babies inside. So for those that are interested here is a picture of the belly. I am almost 24 weeks (6 months) along. At my last OB appointment, on the 3rd, my belly measured 16 inches. I have also posted a picture of me at 7 and 8 months pregnant with Hailey for your comparison. Enjoy!

Backpacking

Aaron got back from a backpacking trip on Wednesday. My father-in-law (DeVon), three of my brothers-in-law (Joe, Jason, and Andrew), a friend of my father-in-laws and many animals (4 horses, 2 dogs, and 2 goats) made up the group that went. From all of the stories that I've heard and the pictures I've seen they had a really good time, except maybe for the hike out to the truck. Our dog Jack messed up his back paws and could hardly walk. He is now retired from backpacking. Here is a little video of some of the fun they had.

I'll have to make Aaron post some pictures and tell you more about the trip. They get to see some really beautiful things on their backpacking trips. Some day I'll be able to go with them.

Getting Hailey ready

Aaron and I recently bought Hailey a baby doll. We figured it might help her, with the twins coming. She loves her baby doll. She won't take a nap or go down for the night unless she has her "baby". Her baby has been on many trips around town with us. She also takes very good care of her baby doll too. She holds it tight and gives it a lot of love. Here are some pictures of her and the baby doll napping when we got home from buying it.

I don't know if it will really help her or not, we'll have to wait and see when the twins arrive. I hope it will help some. I think that she is starting to understand when I say that there are babies in mama's belly. Today I got her to rub my belly and say "Hi, babies".

OB appointment

Just a little note to keep you all up to date. I went to the OB today, she said everything is going great. One babies heart rate was 158 and the other was 160. I asked her what are the chances that I'll have to have a c-section? My doctor said that it depends on the position of the babies and that we will know more at my next ultrasound. My next ultrasound is July 18th. I'll update you all on the twins after my appointment. Enjoy your 4th of July!!!!!!!
